Ode to a Stranger [A Poem]
vivid in my memory
I see your shirt
the color of ivory
tucked into your denim skirt
you had on a beautiful yellow stole
oh! how can I forget
your blue flip flops with printed pink sole
the nameless beautiful brunette
you were another stranger
but I wanted to stop you
to ask you about the weather
other mundane things or something new
you walked by and into the crowd
I watched till you were just a spot
a distance away, soon lost behind a shroud
my heart, the gullible’s mascot
we could have been friends
in another life, in another world
or maybe lovers, feeling transcends
of peace, we were a herald
but in this world, we will remain unknown
facing our chaotic lives all alone
